Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
No doubt you’ve heard about her and the struggles she has endured over the last few years especially. After her husband was shot and killed here in Texas, Taya Kyle had a choice to make. She could give up, or she could step up.
I had the distinct honor and privilege of visiting with Taya Kyle for the podcast, and know you will find this episode inspiring, encouraging, and forthright.
Listen in and let today’s episode be the push you need to pursue your best potential.
More About Taya:
Taya Kyle is an American Daughter, an American Mom, and an American Wife that women throughout the world can feel a connection with.
As a focal point for military and first responder families throughout the United States, Taya has become a beacon of light for women through displaying her tenacity, strength, and faith in God in steering her family through tragedy.
Following on from the heartbreaking, sudden death of her husband, Chris Kyle – the author of New York Times best-selling book and Academy Award-winning motion picture, American Sniper – Taya has worked tirelessly to extend his legacy to the American people through the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
The Chris Kyle Frog Foundation aims to build a highly connected network of military and first responder families through meaningful interactive experiences.
In her own right, Taya has become a well-respected figure for military and first responder families and American women through appearances on the likes of Patriot Tour with Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell and regular media appearances representing Chris and the Foundation.
Taya’s story, American Wife (released May 2015 – HarperCollins), has given Taya the platform to tell her story, while also teaching on grief, faith, and love.
It represents the opportunity for Taya to be more deeply connected with American women, tell her story and use her experiences to help others.

I’m sure you have mentors in life who are positioned in places, or who have accomplished objectives you aspire to. I’m also certain you have people who look up to you and want to go or do similar places and objectives as you have. The important thing to remember is not everyone is helping you get where you need to be. As others are pulling you in the direction you need to go, it is also your responsibility to push others and inspire them to reach their goals and dreams. Listen in for more on the push/pull effect.

Friday Jan 17, 2020
I’m excited to share again what we’ve created for you – the emerging leaders, business owners, church leaders, solo-preneurs, artists, and ANYONE who desire to take their life, business, and leadership to the next level.
We’ve launched our second season of the Strategic Influencers Mastermind group! Many of you are familiar with the concept and function of a mastermind group, though others of you may not be. I’m going to share the vision, concept, value, and practical functions of the mastermind.
Today we’ll answer:
- What is a mastermind group?
- Where did the idea come from?
- What does a mastermind do?
- How can it benefit you and your business?
- Why should every aspiring leader be a part of a mastermind program?
- And so much more
Let’s get right into discussing The Strategic Influencers Mastermind: Next Level Collaboration for Emerging Leaders.
What Is A Mastermind?
- Mastermind groups offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills.
- A mastermind group helps you and your mastermind group members achieve more success.
- Participants challenge each other to set powerful goals, and more importantly, to accomplish them.
- The group requires commitment, confidentiality, willingness to both give and receive advice and ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect, and compassion.
- Mastermind group members act as catalysts for growth and supportive colleagues.
- The concept of the “mastermind alliance” was formally introduced by Napoleon Hill in his timeless classic, “Think And Grow Rich,” though mastermind groups have been around since the beginning of time.
- Even Benjamin Franklin belonged to such a group, which he called a Junto.
The Benefits of Belonging to a Mastermind Group:
- In a mastermind group, the agenda belongs to the group and each person’s participation and commitment is key
- Your mastermind partners give you feedback, help you brainstorm new possibilities
- The mastermind provides accountability structures that keep you focused and on track
- You create a community of supportive colleagues who brainstorm together to move the members to new heights
- You’ll gain tremendous insights which improve your business and personal life
- Your mastermind group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group, all rolled into one.
The Strategic Influencers Mastermind Group:
What are we looking for?
- You have a burning desire to elevate your life and leadership.
- You’re working full time on your business or are close to making that move.

(More information and guidelines will be provided to you in your personal interview)
When We Meet:

Where Do We Meet?
Weekly (Online) Meetings
Our primary and most consistent method for meeting is online. The wonderful thing about this is you can be anywhere as long as you have a quality internet connection. Your geographical location is not important, but your presence on the video conference is.
Each week we meet on the same day and at the same time. We use a well-respected and dependable service called ZOOM.
In-Person Intensives
We will conduct two to three in-person meetings each calendar year. The format of these will vary from meeting to meeting, however, they are a very different experience than our weekly calls.
Each LIVE meeting will consist of two days of training, processes, and high-level mastermind exercises designed to generate a 10X outcome in your life, business, ministry, or mission. Each member will have extensive “hot seat” time and will leave the meeting with a strategy and actionable plan.

SLP248 - The Invaluable Investment of Time
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
As leaders, we are compelled to serve others. We always pour personal investments into other people. That said, however, we must remember we cannot give what we do not have, and serving while on empty creates incredible challenges for us personally. Leadership burnout is a real problem!
Whether you’re the CEO, a pastor, or a solo-preneur, taking care of YOU is paramount to the success of your leadership calling. But how can you make sure your account stays full? Why should Me-Time and We-Time be a priority in your life?
Today, we’re talking about The Invaluable Investment Of Time.
The Root
Most leaders find themselves working non-stop, always engaged in some way. No doubt several have experienced high levels of success due to this drive, but at what cost?
How many people arrive at the pinnacle of their career only to look back on their life and see a trail of carnage, especially of relationships lost along the way?
The 21st century culture is so success/results driven, we often sacrifice the things that matter the most on the altar of status or accolade.
We invest in the wrong things for the wrong reasons, forgetting how important it is to invest in ourselves, and those we love.
10 Reasons Why “Me” Time & “We” Time Are Vitally Important:
- Rest
- Recovery
- Regained Perspective
- Restored Hope
- Renewed Vision
- Recreation
- Relationship Triage
- Relationship Deposits
- Growth & Development
- Rediscover Your Why

Closing Thoughts:
- Schedule your time away.
- Not only will your work survive without you for a few days, but you’ll be better (and so might those around you) after some time separated from it!
- Is it worth it to sacrifice your relationships for building your business?

SLP247 - Monday Mastery Edition : The Relationship Law of Averages
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Jim Rohn says you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Another saying goes “a rising tide raises all ships.” There is a law of averages according to our relationships! Quality, not quantity, in our connection and our relationships, is what spurs us on to our next levels in life. It is not only about who we spend time with, but what those people are thinking, doing, and practicing in their own lives. The same is true of us, and what we’re able to contribute to the people we surround ourselves with.
