We’re already in the fifth week of our series, and I am confident you’re finding value in it. We’ve discussed Personal Healing, Personal Discovery, and Personal Development to date. Today, we’ll be unlocking the fourth and final cornerstone: Personal Deployment.
After all of your practice and planning, there comes a time for actually playing in the game. What happens when you are mentally ready, clear on your purpose and role, have a perfect game plan and are finally suited up? The whole world is in the grandstands, waiting for your game to begin.
Take the field!
The Gist:
You’ve prepared, you’ve planned, and you know exactly what you need to do. Now is the time to get in the game, and actually do it.
What About You?
- Are you engaging in the activities associated with what you were created to do?
Personal Deployment:
- Personal deployment is about ACTIVATION.
- It is essential to GET IN THE GAME.
- ENGAGE in the work.
- Hit the field, play your position, make your impact, and start winning at your game. No more armchair quarterbacking!
- To be engaged, you must move beyond your fears.
- What do you have to offer?
- What solutions are you called to create?
- What people group is waiting for you to change their lives?
- It is your time for deployment.
Closing Thoughts:
- What’s keeping you from engaging RIGHT NOW?
- What are you waiting for?
- Write that book.
- Ship that product.
- Start that business.
- Launch that ministry.

It seems these days more value is placed on entertainment and recreation than is placed on tools and resources to enhance one’s personal development.
This is really a shame, because if we are going to continue to enlarge our capacity, expand our reach, grow our impact, etc. – we must also grow in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and competencies!
Today we’re unpacking the third of our 4 Cornerstones for Strategic Living: Personal Development.
The Gist:
Growing our influence and our capacity only comes by practicing the discipline of personal development. Learning and developing is a continual, ongoing process.
What About You?
- Are you actively and intentionally growing your mind?
Ways to Pursue Personal Development:
- Read! Be a reader. “Readers are leaders.”
- Pursue knowledge at all levels. Attend in-person or online courses, seminars, etc. Educate yourself.
- Surround yourself with people who are where you desire to be. Soak up their influence and wisdom and learn from their successes and mistakes.
- Hire a coach or mentor. Invest in the insight of others, and you’ll take it to heart!
- Attend conferences related to your passion. Show up and network with other attendees, develop relationships, and watch the doors of opportunity open.
- Listen. Listen to audio programs, speakers, etc. that will fill your mind positively and aid in growing your understanding.
Closing Thoughts:
- What percentage of your personal budget will you allocate for your personal development?
- Take an inventory of your life.
- What areas need to be strengthened?
- What knowledge do you need to acquire?
- What qualities do you need to strengthen in your leadership and in your life?
- What are your greatest strengths and aptitudes?

One of the greatest tragedies of our generation is so many people die without ever having discovered who they are, or why they were put here.
Over the many years, I’ve worked with people, I’m sad to say a very small percentage of them ever discover and unlock their God-given destiny and potential.
This doesn’t have to be the way it is! There is a way to discover your identity, purpose, ad life’s calling, and believe me when I say it’s not difficult. It does, however, take intentionality and time.
This session shares several components of the identity matrix, and how you can gain clarity, understanding, and confidence by engaging the processes we layout in this program.
The Gist:
In order to accomplish your life’s work, you must first discover who you are and how you can find – and run in – your lane of life.
What About You?
- Can you answer, “Who am I, and why am I here?”
Believe:
- Every person is born with a very unique design, assignment, and purpose.
- Every person inherently possesses a particular thing with which they can contribute to life.
- You have the capacity to do great things.
- We are conditioned to dismiss possibility.
- Life conditions us to expect less than what is really possible.
- Overcome restrictive beliefs!
- IN order to reclaim your purpose, a reboot is in order.
- What you believe to be true about your potential, worth, and values is exactly what you will experience.
The Identity Matrix:
- Understand how you’re wired.
- Understand your strengths.
- Identify your core values.
- Cultivate and clarifty your vision.
- Strategic planning and execution.
Closing Thoughts:
- What is your primary and secondary personality style?
- What are your deepest passions?
- What are the dreams and desires of your heart?
- What ideas or aspirations have you entertained?
- What are your greatest strengths and aptitudes?
- What are your top 5 skills and abilities?
- If money were no option, what would you do with your time and resources?
- If you knew you could not fail, what would you accomplish in your life?

Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Last week, we introduced a new format for our podcast, taking a more systematic approach in our objective to develop leaders. We shifted to a series-based training format, and I’m still so excited and know it will be of great benefit to you.
We started with an introduction to the four cornerstones for strategic living. Today, we’re going to discuss the first cornerstone in this development philosophy: Personal Healing.
The Gist:
If we’re going to have success, it will be because we lived life strategically: on purpose, with intentionality. We cannot do that without first addressing any unresolved issues or areas in our lives that need to experience healing.
What About You?
- Have you avoided reconciling issues, relationships, or circumstances that once caused you pain?
- Are you willing to admit these unresolved points in life may be hindering your potential?
Possible Areas of Brokenness:
- Abandonment
- Divorce (Parents or self)
- Rejection
- Sexual/emotional/spiritual/verbal abuse
- Catastrophic failure
- Absence of a father-figure
- Lack of affirmation or personal value nurturing
- Too much too soon
- Poor models of intimacy in relationship
- Betrayal
- Limiting beliefs
7 Steps to Personal Healing:
- Acknowledge
- You cannot change what you’re not willing to acknowledge. ~ Phil McGraw
- Confess it
- Bring it into the light and render it powerless to continue to affect you.
- Resolve
- Give yourself permission to face it.
- Forgive and release
- Most pain we experience in life is a result of someone else imposing that pain on us.
- Pray
- Ask God to meet you in the moment.
- Receive
- You have to be open to receive healing.
- Live the life you were created to.
- Live free
Closing Thoughts:
- What is it in YOUR heart hat needs to be healed and reconciled?
- Is there unresolved hurt or pain that your have avoided or refused to address?
- Are there things you would rather not think about or deal with?

Today, I’m going to be giving you the introduction to my 4 Cornerstones For Strategic Living, and what it means for you to begin building your strategic life.
The Gist:
Most people seem to be living their lives on autopilot, and struggle to live intentionally. It seems there is a general consensus of a lack of joy, lack of fulfillment, and lack of purpose.
What About You?
- Are you struggling with your current situation?
- Do you want to know where you’re heading and how you’re going to get there?
Focus:
- Don’t just make a living. Make a life, and leave a legacy.
- Pursue strategic living.

- Live your life on purpose.
Planning Ahead:
- Think through your next steps and what you envision for the next several years.
- Do you know (and understand) who you are and why you’re here?
- What is your unique purpose for which you were created?
- What people group (niche market) are you called to contribute to?
Take Aways:
- Living strategically means engaging purposefully in the intentional process of growing, becoming, and actively pursuing the very thing for which you were created.
- Every area of your life depends on your strategic approach to it.
- Your success is directly proportionate to your strategic life plan.
- Start with writing your vision down, and map your strategic plan to achieve it.

Closing Thoughts:
- What life do you want for yourself, and who do you want to go with you?
- Write down your vision and your goals. Put pen to paper!
