Every leader/business owner needs to be a part of three different mastermind groups:
- A free group made up of peers
- A group you pay to be a member of, learning from others
- A group you LEAD and share your expertise
Leadership and Life Principles:
- Treat people the way you want to be treated. Whatever you want men to do or give to you, give or do to them BEFORE they do it to you! (Luke 6:31)
- If you want to be great, you have to be a servant. (Matthew 6:20)
- If you want to be exalted, you have to be humble. (Luke 14:11)
- “He who thinks he leads but has no followers is only taking a walk.” ~ John Maxwell

SLP163 - 10 Things Real Leaders Do To Challenge The Status Quo
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Over the course of history, even the most significant leaders of our generation have been faced with incredibly difficult or challenging circumstances. These leaders have shown themselves above the others because they demonstrated the will and heart to innovate and lead without reservation.
There is a notable difference in positional leaders (managers) and genuine leaders. These real, genuine leaders tend to challenge the status quo and make it their life’s work to blaze new trails. These leaders leave the world a better place than it was before.
Today, I want to explore some of the things that make a genuine leader so very special.
Let’s start talking about 10 Things Real Leaders Do To Challenge The Status Quo.
10 Things Real Leaders Do To Challenge The Status Quo:
- They embrace discontent and the desire for more.
- They exercise faith in the unseen, knowing that the answers and solutions exist.
- They refuse to accept what everyone else considers “normal”.
- They never settle for the “it’s never been done” excuse.
- They rely on innovation and collaboration which ultimately leads them to revelation and realization.
- They are willing to be criticized, misunderstood, or even ridiculed on their way to achieving the next level.
- They insulate themselves from negativity and surround themselves with possibility thinkers.
- They don’t complain about the way things are, they busy themselves creating the world they desire to live in.
- They stare failure in the face, and try new things anyway.
- They never quit until the dream is realized.
What About You?
- The world needs leaders who challenge the status quo!
Closing Thoughts:
- What problem can you solve with your above-average leadership?
- What solutions exist that are yet to be discovered?
- Are you willing to challenge what everyone around you has accepted as normal?
- Can you/will you adopt these qualities and traits great leaders always engage in?

SLP161 - Project Detox
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Recently, I’ve noticed I’m increasingly emotionally and spiritually toxic. I’m easily agitated and find I entertain fear and worry more than before. My usual hope-centered self has been clouded by gloom and doom.
But why? How? Have I changed? Looking closely at this and asking God to help me understand what’s going on inside, I’ve come to the answer I am infected.
A present-day cultural disease has fundamentally affected my spirit, soul, and even my physical body. Therefore, I’ve decided to make some radical adjustments to my normal activities and exposures. I want to invite you to consider joining me on Project Detox: My 90-Day Quest for a Healthier Mind, Body, and Spirit.
The Gist:
We have so many mediums through which we contract our “informational infection”. A few of them are:
- News broadcasts
- Online news sites
- Television shows (featuring crime, death, degraded culture, etc.)
- Radio programs
- Billboards
- Fear-based advertising/marketing
- Talk shows
- Day-to-day conversations (with negative people or centered on negative topics)
- Workplace debates
Changing The Rules Of The Game:
- Taking myself out of the field of play.
- Refusing to be a willing spectator any longer.
- Taking control of my mind and heart.
- Reclaiming sanctity of the environment I live in.
- Turning off the noise, and being intentionally selective of the inputs I allow into my spirit and mind.
Remember G.I.G.O! (Garbage In – Garbage Out!)
3 Precursors to a Successful Detox:
- Recognize and acknowledge your current condition.
- Decide to no longer be a willing consumer of toxic inputs and agendas.
- Identify specific channels you must unplug from in order to achieve a spiritual and emotional detox.
The Detox Rx:
Detox involves both elimination and replacement. While purging the system of all the negative elements, it is essential to replace them with healthy, beneficial, nutrient-rich elements. The same is true in this kind of detox.
For the next 90-days (and possibly beyond!) I will be eliminating the following items from my life:
- All news or journalistic inputs (TV, Radio, and Internet)
- All Radio Talk Show Programs
- All E-Mail Subscriptions/Updates that are unrelated to my business and personal life (I am unsubscribing!)
- All television shows (No TV for 90 days)
- All social conversations about politics, world affairs, the economy, etc. (I will NOT participate)
- All social interactions where I would be around negative, fear-driven people
- If necessary, suspend relationships with people who are themselves toxic
As important is my plan for REPLACING these negative inputs with positive, life building ones.
The Replacement Regimen:
Here are the positive, beneficial elements I’ll be refueling myself with instead:
- Daily Bible Reading: Audio Bible App
- Daily sermon (Andrew Wommack, Lance Wallnau, Bill Johnson, others)
- Worship Time
- Daily book reading (Audible/Kindle Combo)
- Daily personal development program (Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Earl Nightengale, Brian Tracy, others)
- Mastermind Input and Accountability
- Time with positive and balanced friends and family
What About You?
- Are you immersed in toxic ramblings of the political world?
- Are you addicted to negative news cycles and consequently being intoxicated with fear, hopelessness, and strife?
- Are you constantly taking in visual or audible stimulation that causes your mind to dwell on the bad in this world?
- Are you escaping life by immersing yourself in television dramas and entertainment?
- How is your heart? How is your attitude?
- Are you being honest with yourself about your current mental, emotional, and spiritual state?
- Do you need a break?
- Are you in need of a real DETOX?
Closing Thoughts:
- Remember Philippians 4:4-8:
- Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

SLP157 - 4 Things You Must Have To Achieve Your Next Level of Success
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
Wednesday Jan 15, 2020
You’ve heard me say previously, “Life is lived on levels and experienced in stages.” Let me add on to that today in saying: what was excellent on the previous level is mediocre at best when you arrive at the next level.
How many of you would consider yourselves in a place today, where you realize what you’ve brought to where you are may not get you where you want to go?
Today, I’m sharing four things I’m certain we all must have if we’re going to make the jump to our next level of success. Here is my exclusive list of 4 Things You Must Have To Achieve Your Next Level Of Success.
The Gist:
I want to be clear in saying the four things I share today are essential factors for our success, however, each person has to examine their own situation and determine how to go about facilitating change and progress.
This includes taking a close look at:
- Relationships
- Habits
- Beliefs and Attitudes
- Context and setting
- And so many others
What are the four things?
- Innovation
- Collaboration
- Determination
- Accountability
Innovation:
- Innovation frees us to create.
- Innovation fosters the advent of revolutionary solutions
- Innovation changes generations.
- We often become the prisoners of the status quo.
- Innovation chooses to break the mold.
Collaboration:
- Collaboration is the process of two or more people or organizations working together to realize shared goals.
- It is the act of working jointly with others in intellectual and practical endeavors.
- It is the process of coming together in community around the common goal of each person being better, accomplishing more, and achieving together.
- One of the biggest hurdles we must overcome if we are to take our lives to the next level is our cultural bent to isolation and working alone
- The greatest innovators and companies in the modern era are ones that bring together diverse groups of people, and allow them the creative freedom to collaborate and solve problems.
Determination:
- Determination is a DECISION that settles and ends the controversy.
- It is a firm, definite, and final calculation that leads to movement and change.
- You cannot go to the next level if you can’t make the DECISION.
Accountability:
- Accountability is quite literally the willingness to answer to someone for your actions, commitments, and attitudes.
- If you have no one in your life that can call you on the carpet, you are going nowhere.
- Who do you have in your life that you have given permission to hold you accountable?
In Summation:
These four things validate the real value in the Mastermind.
