SLP060 - How To Change Your Life by Changing Your Words
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Monday Jan 13, 2020
What you say is what you GET
I really believe this to be true. Our thoughts lead to beliefs; out of our beliefs we talk, both internally to ourselves, and outwardly to others; and what we say has tremendous creative power. Have you ever intentionally turned up the volume and raised your awareness of what comes out of your mouth? You might be shocked if you walked around with a recorder all day.
What are you creating with your own words? Life, poverty, success, failure, good relationships, bad ones?
On today’s program, I want to share with you ‘How To Change Your Life by Changing Your Words’
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE:
Proverbs 18:21
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Genesis 1
Then God SAID … let there BE …
James 3:5-6, 9-10
5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it
boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by
such a small fire!
6 And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the
tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the
entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set
on fire by hell.
9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse
men, who have been made in the likeness of God;
10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My
brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
It has to do with BELIEFS
In 2007, I traveled to Seattle, WA to attend a powerful training which was being offered by ‘The Pacific Institute.’ Lou Tice, an amazing entrepreneur, businessman, and trainer had discovered years ago that most of the challenges we face have to do with our BELIEFS, and maybe more importantly, the WORDS we speak.
Whether the conversation is going on inside our mind, or out loud where everyone can hear it, OUR WORD carry tremendous power, and in fact CREATE exactly what we say. We can speak into existence what our heart believes to be true, good or bad: Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
It starts with BELIEF
We have to challenged limiting and paralyzing beliefs, and align ourselves with the TRUTH as God sees it.
Bridle the Tongue
We have to CATCH ourselves saying limiting and destructive things.
The Way Forward
1. Listen
2. Call out – (identify) the WORDS that are life-taking
3. Repent
4. Receive Truth – What does God know to be true?
5. Replace – Create statements of confession/affirmation that, over time, will take command of your creative power

How many people do we know that never stop to consider this, much less have the courage to address the necessary change that brings about fulfillment and results. Why are we willing to continue at the expense of what COULD BE?
Truths You Must Face If You Want to Make a Change
- Your present circumstance is a reflection of past choices
- You cannot change what you are not willing to acknowledge (Dr. Phil)
- It starts with the man in the mirror … no one else is responsible for YOU
- Change Your Mind, Change Your World
- When You Can’t Change Your Environment, sometimes you have to create or find a new one
- To resist change is to forfeit your future
- Nothing Changes Until Something Changes
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
What are you READY to see changed in your life?
What are you willing to change about YOU so that you can see the change you want to see?
Are you blaming others for what only YOU can change?

SLP058 - 7 Things That Will Separate You From The Crowd
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Monday Jan 13, 2020
One of my most desired things is to live my life ABOVE AVERAGE
I believe with every fiber of my being that I am born to be great, and to be great only requires that I choose not to be average and ordinary. It is EASY to go with the flow. It is comfortable to compare ourselves against everyone else, making sure that we ‘MEASURE UP’ to what the world expects of us. It requires no real effort to maintain the status quo, or to fit in with those who follow the mundane masses into the deep doldrums of a more meaningless
existence.
But, what if I am created for MORE? What if you and I are destined to be in that small minority of people who RISE ABOVE the crowd just enough to lead, to influence, to affect change? What will it take? How do we do that?
ON today’s program, I want to share with you ‘7 Things That Will Separate You From The Crowd’
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE:
Deuteronomy 28 (NASB)
28 “Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
7 Things That Will Separate You From The Crowd:
1. Know who you are
- You are a child of God … His son
- You are born for greatness, you have an assignment
- You are accepted and approved of by Him; you need no one else’s approval
- You do not have to BE like anyone, perform for anyone, or compromise for any reason
- Be comfortable in your own skin
2. Lead From Your Lane
- What is your personality style? (How are you wired?)
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your talents, skills and abilities?
- Don’t pursue positions or titles, rather, pursue purpose and passions embedded in your DNA by God Himself
3. Serve others first
- My life is not my own
- Whatever I have, I have to give away
- Whatever talents and abilities, I possess them to solve some problem for someone
4. Be an encourager
- There is so much CRAP and noise out there today
- One way to stand out is to be a person who people look FORWARD to seeing or hearing from
- Be that person who brings positivity, grace, smiles, joy to the environment
- Be a person whose attitude exudes gratefulness, thankfulness, respect, honor, love, hope
- Speak encouraging words; speak life; speak peace
5. Listen more than you talk
- Everyone has an opinion about everything
- Sometimes, we actually have good advice we can give others
- What most people long for is someone who will listen FROM THE HEART
- What most people want is someone who will do life with them in a way that we don’t just express our sympathy, but rather, we crawl down in the trenches with someone and stay there until they come through
- This is real relationship!
6. Be teachable
- You don’t have to impress people with how much you know
- In fact, the older I get, the more I realize just how much I DON’T know
- Be a learner
- Observe, listen, read, learn
- Allow others to help you to see things you don’t see Be willing to take correction and accountability
- If you are the smartest person in the room, then you’re in the wrong room!
7. Be real
- No masks
- No pretense
- No hiding behind titles and positions
- Honest
- Truly humble and authentically confident
- Transparent and open
- What You See Is What You get
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
What are you presently focused on that will make you a person who stands out from the crowd?
Will you continue to blend in, go along to get along, or will you rise above the rest and be the one others look to?

SLP057 - The Ties That Bind Story ... My Personal Journey To Healing
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Monday Jan 13, 2020
I am often asked, how did the Ties That Bind come to be?
Others want to know my personal story; what makes me an authority on the process of healing I so often talk about. Well, like many others, I have a story to tell It’s my story… a true story Before this story began; before I needed healing; before I came to a crisis place in my own life; before God met me in the most unlikely place in 2000, HE had already determined that my DESTINY would be uniquely shaped by my experience and my life’s testimony.
Today on this podcast, I want to share with you a recent opportunity I had to share my story. Not only will you hear about my life, but you will hear how God revealed to us the truths and the life of God we found in ‘The Ties That Bind’
Let’s go now to ‘The Ties That Bind Story…My Journey to Healing’

Passionate Leadership That Produces Results
I am excited today to share with you some thoughts on Becoming A Passionate Leader. You may or may not fancy yourself a ‘leader’, but the truth is, everyone of us are created by God to LEAD our generation in some way or form. We talk often on this program about BECOMING or BEING. We also refer to DEVELOPING LEADERS. What do we mean by this? I will tell you. I believe that every man and woman born to time has been placed in the earth to govern, to rule, to INFLUENCE, and to affect change. The Bible tells us that we are SALT and LIGHT. John Maxwell says … “Leaders Lead”. Today, I want to challenge you to pursue becoming a PASSIONATE LEADER; one who knows who they are, and is functioning from a place of grace and strength; one that gets results in everything you put your heart and hands to.
ON today’s program, I want to share with you ‘Passionate Leadership That Produces Results’
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE:
Psalm 20:4
May He give You the desires of your heart, and make all your plans succeed..
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart..
Proverbs 13:12
Hope (passion) deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is the tree of life.
4 Questions To Help You Identify Your Passions:
- What are YOU passionate about?
- What desires are you seeking to fulfill?
- How do your PASSIONS and DESIRES intersect the leadership role God has created you to fulfill
- Are you living with PASSION and PURPOSE, or are you just getting by?
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
How did you answer these questions?

SLP054 - Learning To Hear and Follow God’s Voice
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Are you hearing voices? Well there’s one voice you need to be listening for…
We find ourselves in a season right now where God is inviting us to LEARN what it means to be LED by the Spirit; to follow hard after Him; to trust His leadership; and to HEAR His voice. One of the challenges we face as 21st century Christian’s is that somewhere along the way, our reliance factor changed over from relying on HIM, and we have become more self-reliant. The truth is that APART from Him we can do nothing. So, more than ever before, it is imperative that we re-up our commitment and dedication to pursuing Him, learn how to hear His voice, and follow His leadership
On todays program, I want to share with you 7 KEYS that will move you forward in mastering the Art of Hearing God’s Voice and being led by Him.
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE:
Jeremiah 7:23-25
23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.’ 24 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward. 25 Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent you all My servants the prophets, daily rising early and sending them.
Psalm 81:13-14
13 “Oh that My people would listen to Me,
That Israel would walk in My ways!
14 “I would quickly subdue their enemies
And turn My hand against their adversaries.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES:
Abraham Take now your son … Moses Go back to your homeland, and tell Pharaoh … David When leadership was lacking, David said, I will … Jonah God called and Jonah ran; had to get his attention Jeremiah God specified his calling and place, and Jeremiah argued
7 KEYS TO EFFECTIVE LISTENING:
- God is always speaking
- I must place VALUE on His Words and on hearing His voice
- It takes TIME to listen
- To hear His voice, I must eliminate all distractions and
focus on hearing (Incline my ear) - I must listen with my heart
- I must receive His love, His correction, and His
instruction. Submitting to His Word and heart is in my
best interest - I must listen with a willingness and intent to obey

SLP053 - Let Your Yes Be Yes! - How To Go All In
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Monday Jan 13, 2020
Today’s episode is a little more challenging than usual… are you ready?
God has put dreams into your heart He wants you to achieve. He has brought relationships into your life for your growth and encouragement to help you achieve those dreams. BUT if you don’t take action you can miss all that God has in store for you.
Are you someone who says “yes” to lots of things but has trouble following through? Are you going back and forth on making an important decision in life – and because of fear and doubt you refuse to take action? If so than you need to hear the loving challenge from God Himself – Go All In! That’s right. God is looking to bless those who will not only say “yes” but will take action because of that “yes” Today we are talking about commitment and what it means to say “yes” to all God has in store for you.
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE:
Matthew 5:33-37
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
33 “Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD.’ 34 But I say to you, make nooath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35 or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is THE CITY OF THE GREAT KING. 36 Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyondthese is of evil.
New International Version (©1984)
Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
New Living Translation (©2007)
Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
Young’s Literal Translation
but let your word be, Yes, Yes, No, No, and that which is more than these is of the evil.
James 5:12 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment.
HISTORICAL EXAMPLES:
William Wallace
GREAT QUOTES ON COMMITMENT:
“There are only two options regarding commitment. You’re either in or you’re out. There’s no such thing as life in-between.” Pat Riley
“If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you’re stuck and you don’t know how to rise, don’t look outside yourself. Look inside. Don’t let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory.” Bruce Jenner
“Commitment unlocks the doors of imagination, allows vision, and gives us the “right stuff” to turn our dreams into reality.” James Womack
“Individual commitment to a group effort — that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” Vince Lombardi
“I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life’s greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.” Anthony Robbins
